Term Limits & Lobbyist
Payola Before we can ever achieve the overall success that we all want for our nation, we need to put and end to the cronyism driven by lobbyist payola. The monetary rewards that are waiting for those elected are the driving force behind most of our politicians. They rarely vote against the money and the money people will fight hard against anyone trying to change the system that they control. 3.1 Billion in Lobbyist payola for 435 Congressmen, 100 Senators and 1 President. Some Of Our Foundational Ideas For Change Are; 1. A 12 Year term limit in the Legislative Branch 2. Cap the endless lobbyist money that these officials enjoy, to an overall yearly contribution limit. 3. True election finance reform. Create a cap for election spending for each elected position. 4. An end to contracts and special considerations for campaign contributors. As part of the FEC filing, any business or contracts given to, or related to any campaign contributors, must appear on the basic FEC reporting pages. This reporting for up to 6 steps of seperation. We need integrity in government before true progress can be made. Basic foundational changes as suggested here, can move us in a new direction. |

The
Economy & Jobs
My ExpertiseI am a free enterprise advocate who believes that government intervention in business is destructive. Good regulatory policies can be a stabilizing force for our country, but the Federal Government getting into private business, flies in the face of our core beliefs. Creative lower tax structures, or more specifically tax incentives, will encourage investment and economic growth. Many legislators on both sides of the aisle are under the misassumption that tax breaks alone will spur economic growth. Unfortunately, a vast number of our legislators are lawyers and or career politicians that have never been involved in the day to day business of our economy. They parrot the common assumption of the lower taxes platform and while a low personal and corporate tax rate are absolute necessities, they alone can not get us on the road to a stimulated growth economy. First and Foremost we must have a stable tax structure, guaranteeing corporate investors at least a five year window of limited or more advantageously, no change. Many politicians don't realize how much in advance, large and medium sized companies plan in advance. Most have at least a five year plan. Such as with the Bush Tax credits today, without them knowing what their expenses will be, they are unable to do their basic ROI calculations, thereby hobbling them and in today's situation, freezing hiring and other growth plans until they are able to do their ROI calculations. (ROI = Return On Investment) Investment Tax Credits A simple and effective road forward towards job growth, manufacturing recuperation and new technology investment are properly constructed Investment Tax Credits . They will bring the trillions that are currently on the sidelines into the economy, which tax breaks alone can not do. A tax break on non-existent business is obviously ineffective. Certainly raising taxes stifles growth, weakens the economy and increases unemployment, but tax breaks alone will not do it. Our economy works best when individuals and or businesses decide where and how their money is to spent or invested. many businesses have the capital to invest in growth, but are sitting on the sidelines looking for high return opportunities. Unfortunately many of those opportunities have been overseas.Obviously incentivizing them to invest in growth here in the US would help to decrease unemployment. We can legislate long term tax credits for investors to build and reintroduce legacy free, retuning, or new industries to the US. That type of legislated and guaranteed long term tax credits, will also bring in significant foreign investment dollars. REINDUSTRIFICATION is a new economic term which I have created. It is the process by which we here in America, we can once again begin to manufacture things. In the past, the Free Traders had a concept of a Service Economy without manufacturing, which is seriously flawed. Without some significant policy changes we can not maintain the job growth necessary for a successful economy. There are industries where new investment money can build manufacturing facilities competitive to foreign manufactured products, here in the US, with new technologies and without the burden of old commitments and debts (legacy costs) that can be profitable for the US. Car companies like Kia are doing it. Kia Video Combining these policies with an effective foreign worker program will bring in investment, give Americans higher paying technological jobs and a less expensive foreign labor force for the jobs that Americans don't want to do, which will always be necessary in manufacturing. It is far better for us to have money flowing to and building up neighboring countries than to empower the Chinese who are not only looking to replace us as the Worlds Super Power, but to dominate and determine world direction. The Free Trade Nightmare; first and foremost it isn't Free Trade when the trading partner artificially maintains a depreciated or devalued currency to maintain a lower price on their goods. Also, it isn't free trade when the other side has secret government subsidies in particular industries, targeting and destroying specific industries here in the USA. It isn't Free Trade when the other side has unlimited lobby money to get advantageous treaties and trade policies instituted by our less than informed and politicians loyal to their campaign coffers as opposed to their country.. We all believe in FREE & EQUAL TRADE. Fair competition is healthy. However here in the USA we seem to have too many Free Traitors, if you know what I mean. They sold out our country at a discount, lining their pockets in the meantime. |

| National Security, Veterans & The
Military I combine these issues, because in the real world, they are all interrelated and need to be looked at that way to achieve successful policies. A strong America is the answer to our overall National Security. We need to continue to support and promote our military as a guarantee of our freedoms and lifestyles. Terrorists should be tried at military tribunals not in New York City. Too much Political Correctness is also putting our families in danger. We know who the enemy is, lets not be silly and turn our head to them to seem non-prejudicial. As the Dad of a Marine Officer, the son of a wounded veteran, the Grandson of a man who died in a Veteran's Hospital, and being from a family whose military contribution has been significant, I am uniquely aware of the importance and sacrifice of our men and women serving in the military. I advocate providing them with first-class free medical care and other benefits to which they are entitled. While I am known as advocate of a strong military, I believe that this goal can only truly be achieved if the men and women who serve, feel that they are being treated fairly afterwards by the Veterans Administration and that their sacrifices are truly appreciated by the rest of us. |

Health Care
I believe that ALL Americans should have quality, affordable health care coverage, but I am opposed to health care legislation that will raise taxes, increase government spending and lower the quality of care, especially for seniors and others on programs such as Medicaid and Medicare. We need to implement legislation that strengthens the existing free enterprise system with policies that will drive down costs and make it easier for people to purchase affordable health insurance and give seniors the peace of mind to know that they will get the quality care that they deserve. Many parts of the current bill are good ideas, and IMPROTANT TO MANY. They need to be incorporated into a policy that is better designed to maintain but make more efficient the best medical system in the world. A few additional ideas are; 1. Open National markets to competitive interstate carriers 2. National Tort reform, penalizing baseless lawsuits, limiting awards and lawyers percentages. 3. A prescribed table of government subsidies to insurers for accepting pre-existing conditions 4. Establish a special division of the FBI to prosecute Medicare and Medicaid Fraud including generous rewards for whistle blowers. 5. legislate a protocol for an information system for medical records managed by independent companies yet easy to access. 6. Initiate a focus on prevention, allowing insurers to implement programs that give discounts from the base insurance rates to those who reach or maintain certain personal health goals, similar to scaled homeowner insurance discounts for intrusion alarms, impact glass, fire proofing, etc. 7. Legislate to permit "buying groups" for coverage with their own rules and guidelines and allow these groups to exist interstate, which can enable individuals to achieve similar discounts to large unions or municipalities. 8. legislate catastrophic policies for those able to prove financial ability through health savings plans, to further reduce costs with the system wide integration of personal responsibility through payment by the patient. This will bring free market pressures on the industry by bringing costs into the daylight. |

Energy and Environment I support a common-sense environmental policy that will help to reduce pollution and preserve our precious planet. Without action now, future generations will be left to clean up the mess we leave, but we can not do it without the equal cooperation of countries like China and India. We should not sacrifice our lifestyles and stability, so that these countries can grow at our expense. Policies and treaties designed to hobble the United States should not be considered. In order to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, I support reasonable and appropriate development of alternative energy sources such as wind, solar, nuclear, geothermal and improved and safe hydroelectric and nuclear facilities. We also need to explore for and utilize the oil reserves here in the US and Mexico. I oppose a national cap and trade program because of the higher costs that families and businesses would incur without significant results. A new tax is not what our country needs now. |

Education I am passionate about improving the quality of our public schools. Accountability and high standards are paramount. I support choice through charter schools, as well as the FCATS exam as a graduation requirement. The future of our economy and nation are directly tied to the education of our young. A quality education is also paramount to National Security, as those of us who look to the future understand. We need a new initiative developed by the best educators in the country, not bureaucrats, that will give us the ability to move to the forefront of education in the world and which will prepare the next generation for the world that is coming. I have been developing a plan which I hope to release in the next several months. |

Immigration What we are doing today does not work and is generally bad business for our country. People talk about comprehensive reform and while that is what is necessary, they do not have any functional plans. Along with absolute border security, a sweeping comprehensive reform that settles the situation once and for all, and gives us a fair and functional system to move forward with is necessary. This is where political courage is necessary. Any conservative that suggests anything that smells of amnesty is doomed politically. Liberals that don't suggest complete amnesty and citizenship are also doomed in their own political circles. My familiarity with many undocumented workers and quasi-fluency in Spanish, along with my conservative, but business sensible principles, gives me a unique perspective on a comprehensive plan, that includes a compassionate inclusion principle along with a smart business for America principle. The longer we wait, the more difficult an effective plan will be to incorporate. Life Respect for life is something that I believe that ALL politicians and those who aspire to lead the nation should have. All life is sacred and should be respected. How can an individual aspire to lead his or her people without the will and or belief to protect the most vulnerable of them? |
| Second
Amendment - Gun Control I am a gun owner and I have a concealed weapons permit. I support the Second Amendment and believe that citizens have the right to keep and bear arms as a basic constitutional liberty. I support safe and responsible gun ownership including quick but thorough background checks thereby restricting sales to persons who have proven themselves a danger to the rest of us (Felons). Our ownership of guns was a forethought by the founding fathers to insure against an out of control government and can not be taken away, by any current governmental actions. |

Death Penalty There are some crimes that are so heinous, that they deserve capital punishment. The state and federal authorities should have the ability to impose the death penalty in cases where it is statutorily permitted. |
||
| Israel Israel has made enormous sacrifices in an attempt to secure peace, including unilateral withdrawal from Gaza. I support a two-state solution that reaffirms Israel's right to exist and provides the Palestinians with a place of their own, where both sides can live in peace and security. Israel is our closest ally in the Middle East. Israel lives every day under the threat of terror, yet shares with America a dedication to democratic ideals, a respect for faith, and a commitment to peace in the region. Until a lasting peace is achieved, I support the security barrier erected by Israel which has proven successful in protecting Israeli civilians from terrorist attacks. |
||
| Iran I would support the bi-partisan Iran sanctions bill and believe that until Ahmadinejad gives up his nuclear ambitions we should ramp up the sanctions and isolation With its reckless and illegal pursuit of nuclear weapons, Iran represents the biggest threat to Israel and the world. Ahmadinejad is a Holocaust denier who has threatened to wipe Israel off the map, which is in itself, completely unacceptable and reeks of insanity. Meeting with him confers legitimacy when the only correct response is to treat him as an outcast. He has used personal meetings in the past to lend credibility, embolden his positions and as a propaganda tool to strengthen his hold on his country. It should be clear to him that we will consider the military option, should all else fail. |
